An independent-minded doctor (Sandra Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its newest resident, a frustrated architect (Keanu Reeves). When they discover that they actually living two years apart, they must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it's too late.
I watched it for the first time around October 2007. It was the feature movie of the week in HBO at that time. I like Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves since I watched them in Speed. They have good screen chemistry. Not exactly Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, but from both movies, they manage to keep a hold on the audience. I don't know about you, but I was hooked.
The wait is the center of attention in this film. Wait for the right person. Wait for the right time to be together. Just wait.
What I really love about this film is the fact that they write each other letters. A little farfetch when you think about the time conflict but the idea of writing letters got my attention. How else on earth can they talk with a two-year time difference between them right? Oh, and the scenes where they "talk" as if they're right next each other....beautifully edited.
I recommend this film for all those romantic hopefuls out there. I've seen the film quite a few times already and I don't get tired of waiting with them.
