I was recovering from a flu, and was just thinking of what to eat for lunch (McDo delivery, Tapa King delivery, Chowking delivery, decisions, decisions) when I received an SMS from Benny...
Benny:
Gusto ko mag-inom! Me:
[looked outside and confirms the time, then replied] now?! okay.
Benny:
saan tayo? Me:
[checks my mess] we can have our drinking session here at my place. I'll provide the rice. You and the gang can bring viand and drinks.
And so, Benny, Dek and Mai arrived within the hour bearing gifts, i.e. roasted chicken from Andok's, powdered orange juice, a bottle of RTO and a bottle of vodka. Mai, being the resident bartender, also brought along her jigger. After an hour or two, Mads joined the group. By 4 pm, as the session was dying down, Ninch arrived. As for me, being still on medication, declined to drink vodka that day and on that day only!
While drinking, Benny told us that all of our reactions were pretty much the same. But op kors!! She wanted to be alcohol-induced in the middle of the day! Not to mention that she and Mai have to go to work by 10 or 11 pm that night.
What else happened during and after the drinking? Well, as with any other drinking sessions, there's storytelling, including that of the fake 200 peso bill I got from a fast food delivery service, the bouncing jigger cap (telling Mai to mix some more drinks) and the rape of my Bumblebee plushie. There was also some picture taking, mostly of our feet.
The deadlies who had to work had some time to sober up because drinking that day officially ended around 5 pm. Enough time for their bodies to process the alcohol they have ingested.
Just one of those
"deadlies" day in. It turned out to be great.
